Will Walking Prepare me for Labour and Birth?

Walking is a nice and easy exercise and is recommended to be carried on all through the pregnancy. There are measurable benefits to light exercising like walking during pregnancy and the studies have proved them to be healthy.

Walking will keep you refreshed, healthy and active while taking good care of your baby. It helps to bring the baby nice and down, ready for birth by term end, at the same time exerting pressure on the cervix to open it enough for the easy dilation process.  However, it is utterly important to consult your gynaecologist before you actually take up walking as a routine exercise.

Walking on one side supports the expecting mother for labour and dilation, however, in case where the baby is not too low or close to the cervix, it hardly makes any difference. Furthermore, for mothers whose babies are too close to the cervix before time, walking can be unsafe rather than help in birthing. Also, it is strictly recommended that while walking, if you feel any sort of pain, especially in the abdominal area, do consult your doc at the earliest.

Walking is, surely a stroke of luck for pregnant women as if you walk regularly, you will feel good, look good, give birth by far and get back to your actual shape quicker.

However, there are certain cautions you must follow if you decide to take a walk regularly:

  • Eat more and eat right
  • Wear loose clothes and  a support bra
  • Stop and rest when you feel out of breath
  • Avoid walking in hot and humid weather

Are you Pregnant Again By Chance?

Is It An Unplanned Pregnancy?

Pregnancy is the best emotion a woman goes through. But when you are unprepared, it might be a daunting experience when you find a pit at one side and fire on another. Don't know which way to go? Probably this lens will help you decide whether you want to keep this baby or not and how to prepare quickly and welcome the baby # 2.

Get Prepared Quick and Act Smart!

Tips for the Second Pregnancy
Getting pregnant isn't just about somehow surviving those critical 9 months, but about many more years to come. Preparing yourself mentally for the entire story all over again, plus the coming up of the new born, health alerts, the most decisive financial planning and your willingness to take a break from work and go on maternity leave, considering all the rewards and incentives and that long awaited promotion at stake.

Conception after you already have a young toddler at home might mean a lot of effort and hard work (that often goes vain when your first kid doesn't let you complete your chores on time). It means a lot of physical, emotional as well as mental stress when you have to take care of a baby around you and a baby in you!

Once you decide to keep the baby, you once and for all, discard all the unnecessary and evil around you. First things first- Conception means no active or passive smoking, no junk food, no alcohol, no high heal, but wait, when we are talking about second pregnancy, you must know all the basics by now.

Managing the Second (or third, or fourth) Pregnancy can be quite a Challenge!

Lets discuss what all you must know when you are pregnant again-

It's important that your first kid understands what you are going through. If you feel he is too young for it, you can arrange for an evening session/class for him that tire him out completely and makes the latter part of the day easier for you when he dozes off.

If you are working and you have some babysitting arrangement for your first kid, do not break or change the routine. Believe it or not, if you are habitual of spending your day away, you'll be really exhausted if you suddenly plan to stay at home and take care of the baby and the fetus.

Forget the first pregnancy catnaps! The most you can get now is- sleep when your child sleeps. Forget the time, forget the work, and just take a nap as and when you can.

Cook double and save time. Cook a lot of porridge, so that you and the kid can eat every couple hours. Also, it is important to eat healthy right now, so keep sprouts, salad and fruits handy.

Ignore the unfolded laundry, spilled crumbs and it's completely okay to discard the leftovers without brainstorming on how to methodically reuse every bit of food. Take it easy!

Introduce a baby doll to your first kid. Teach him to pretend-and-play; probably this will prepare him to accept the # 2.

Are you pregnant, again?

A rose tinted thought that makes you blush, flush and hush- pregnancy may perhaps be a dreaded word for some. If you are pregnant again by chance, you need some time alone to think- what next? You already have a small kid who jumps and hops around you all day, sleeps lying on your belly and you’re always on your toes!  So how do you plan to take care of this subsequent pregnancy at all?

Discuss with your partner how (and if) you want to move ahead with the baby number two. It has to be a mutual decision because it’s just not about your first baby’s age and demands, but your body and its capacity to bear again, your health track record, vis-à-vis your boozing and fagging routine, your finances and career goals, your lifestyle and personal preferences, if not anything more.

Another baby may simply mean a dire need for 24 more hours in a day, another cot in the room, doubling your savings and tripling your work load. If all this doesn’t scare you to death, go ahead, gift a sibling to your first baby; but just don’t let it happen if you think you cannot afford it.

Have your heart go walking around outside your body

Making a decision to have a child--it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

There is only one pretty child in this world…..and every mother has it!!!

A mother carries a child in her stomach for nine months, in her arms for 3 years and in her heart till the day she dies.
Being a mother is not only a mystifying and spiritual experience, there is certainly something audacious about it. To make this moment more conscientious, you need to cautiously look after your well-being so that the tiny being inside you is nurtured well to face this world in good health and with joy.

To begin with, there are certain guidelines that you need to follow to be bale to provide good care to your baby and yourself. Well-balanced, nutritious diet is one of the foremost requirements for a healthy baby birth and enjoyable and comfortable pregnancy term.
The food consumed by the mother is the main source for growth and development for the foetus that grows inside the woman’s womb. That’s why it is vital for the mother to take necessary food products in her routine diet. Here, I display a brief information about what, why and when is required for a pregnant woman to consume.

A required diet includes sufficient amounts of proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, fats, vitamins and water.

A good intake of Protein in standard diet helps in cell growth and blood production. Fish, peanut, tofu, lean meat, poultry, egg whites and pulses are very rich in protein.

Food with carbohydrates aids in producing energy that is required by the human body. Bread, cereals, rice, potatoes, pasta, fruits and vegetables are good examples of rich sources of carbohydrates.

Food rich in calcium is a vital necessity during this phase for both mother, as well as the baby. It helps in the development of strong bones and teeth of the baby. It also helps in muscle contraction and proper nerve functioning. Milk, cheese, yogurt, spinach, sardines or salmons with bones carry high amounts of calcium. For the mother, calcium intake prevents the loss of calcium from her own bones during the baby’s growth.

Iron is a good element that helps in the production of red blood cells that avoids anemia. Lean red meat, spinach, cereals and iron fortified whole grain breads supply a lot of iron to the body. Vegetables like drumsticks and beetroots are also very rich in iron.

Vitamin A provides of healthy skin, good eyesight and also aid in developing strong bones. Carrots, dark green leafy greens and sweet potatoes are good sources of vitamin A.

Vitamin C is required for healthy gums, teeth and strong bones. It also helps to keep cold and other infections at bay by developing immune system of the baby. Citrus fruits, broccoli, tomatoes, fortified fruit juices are carriers of handsome amount of vitamin C.
Vitamin B6
Food rich with vitamin B6 like pork, gram, and whole grain cereals and bananas supply this type of vitamin for the body. The vitamin not only aids in the formation of red blood cells but also for the effective use of protein, carbohydrates and fat by the body.

Vitamin B12 helps in the formation of red blood cells and helps to keep the nervous system healthy. Meat, fish, poultry and milk provide this vitamin.

Vitamin D helps in absorption of calcium and in the development of bones and teeth. Fortified milk, dairy products, cereals and breads are all important sources of vitamin D.

Folic acid is one of the most important requirements of a pregnant body especially during the first trimester. It helps in blood, protein and enzyme production. Folic acid also helps to prevent neural tube defects that occur during the early stages of pregnancy. Green leafy vegetables, dark yellow fruits and vegetables, peas, beans and nuts are all rich in folic acid.

What not to eat during Pregnancy

Alcohol and smoking are strictly advised against during pregnancy. Caffeine is also better avoided as its consumption during this phase can cause miscarriages in the early stages.
Any unpasteurized milk and milk products can do a lot of harm to the mother as well as the baby.
Raw eggs and food containing raw eggs too can be harmful as raw egg might contain infections that are really bad for the foetus.
Non-vegetarian items need to be consumed with a lot of care as unclean meat can grow bacteria Staphylococci, which can lead to diarrhea. Some fish contain traces of mercury, which is highly dangerous. Hence, be sure what fish you are consuming.
The craving for non-food items during pregnancy is called pica. Some pregnant women surprisingly have a tendency to consume non-food items like clay. Such craving should not be entertained as consumption of non-food items can prove to be dangerous for the foetus. It is important to consult the doctor if the urge arises.

Hence eat healthy, be healthy during and after pregnancy as your little infant thrives on your diet for a healthy living.
