The Best Chocolate Cake That’s Easy to Make At Home

Some call cake making an art, some call it a science; but for me it’s all pleasure, especially when you bake a yummy cake at home with lots and lots of chocolate inside and out!

I recently made this simple and easy to bake chocolate cake with simple ingredients that you all can find in your kitchen. Let’s begin with the yumilicious route to a scrumptious chocolate cake.

All you need for making chocolate cake

2 cups White flour
1 cup Wheat flour
5 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
A pinch of salt
100 grams unsalted butter (skip the pinch of salt if your butter is already salted)
1 cup milk
5 teaspoons Cocoa powder
150 grams chocolate shavings (if you do not get chocolate shavings handy, you can grate a chocolate bar in a large grater)
Few drops of Vanilla essence
5 teaspoons Chocolate sauce

Sounds simple? Trust me, it really is!

Procedure:

Let the oven preheat at 300° C.

The simplest way to go about it would be to simply add everything except the chocolate shavings and chocolate topping or chocolate sauce to a large blender and blend until you get a rich, creamy texture. Don’t be anxious if you heard that yolks and sugar need to be blended separately, before adding the rest of the stuff. Believe me when I say it’s a simple and easy to make chocolate cake that really comes out yummy. Now that your batter is almost ready, you can add half of the chocolate shavings to it.

Your oven must be hot by now. Grease the baking dish and dust it with some flour. Pour the entire batter to the greased baking dish and if doesn’t pour consistently, you can scoop out what's left as the batter isn’t expected to be too runny. Cover the dish with aluminium foil.

Do not forget to bring down the oven temperature from 300° to 170° C. Now put the baking dish in the oven. Set the timer for 50 minutes. If your oven doesn’t allow even cooking, you can put the tray on the lower rack for 20 minutes and then shift it to the middle rack. This will allow the cake to rise evenly and quickly. Once the cake rises as much as it should, shifting it to the middle rack will allow even cooking.

Have some patience and wait for 30 more minutes till you get a yummy, chocolicious home made cake.
Once your timer plays the beep and the oven turns off, get your cooking mittens on and remove the cake from the oven. Wait for 2-3 minutes for it to shrink a bit from the sides. Loosen the edges with the help of a blunt knife. Transfer the cake to the serving tray.
Now pour the chocolate sauce over the top. You can also stuff it in layers if you want to slice the cake from between. Once the chocolate sauce spreads on the cake top and the cake temperature also goes a bit down, sprinkle the chocolate shavings on it. Add all the shavings and cover the cake completely with it. The layer of the chocolate sauce below the shavings will help the choco shavings to stick to the cake.

No more waiting! It’s time for cake cutting and admiring your caking baking skills, art, science or, whatever J
